Dr. Edgard Telles Ribeiro will present  on his career as a diplomat and writer. He will then focus on his novel, published in Brazil in 2010 and the winner of the Brazilian Pen Club Award for best novel of the year. The book has since been published in English under the title His Own Man. The subject of the novel is the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985) and the dealings of an informer operating in the Brazilian Foreign Ministry. After a brief presentation on the overall time period, he will do a short reading, followed by a Q/A session.
