LACSI Conversations: “Mi experiencia cubana: A month in la Habana.”
Join the Conversation on Wednesday, December 4, at 4 p.m.
Chantell Smith, PhD candidate in the UGA Department of Romance Languages will discuss her experiences conducting research regarding links between African Americans and Afro-Cubans as well as making social connections and gaining cultural understanding during her month in Cuba with the UGA en la Habana program.
LACSI Conversations began last year as cross-disciplinary discussions, where LACSI faculty presented their research or projects to a general audience of students and faculty from various disciplines and to members of the Athens community. LACSI is pleased to continue the tradition, and we invite you to be join the Conversation. LACSI Conversations are informal presentations of roughly 10 minutes, followed by 40 to 50 minutes of open discussion. We see these Conversations as great opportunities for UGA and the surrounding community to get to know the great work being done by students and LACSI’s 140+ affiliates, which now represent every college and professional school on campus.
