290 S Hull St
Athens, GA 30605
For more than a decade the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute (LACSI) at the University of Georgia has been hosting an Open House for the UGA and Athens community to celebrate Hispanic—and now Latino—Heritage Month. The month is recognized nationally in the United States from September 15 to October 15.
The Open House gives LACSI the opportunity to make the community aware of the many activities taking place at UGA and Athens during the month to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Latin America and the Caribbean. This year’s Open House will include Mexican folk dance from Tonalli Danza Folklórica Mexicana, Latin American food/drink and Brazilian music, and more. This year’s LACSI LHM Open House will take place from 4-6PM on Friday, September 16 at LACSI, 290 South Hull Street.
The sponsors of this year’s LHM Open House include LACSI, the UGA Department of Romance Languages, the UGA School of Social Work, and the UGA Office of the President. The event is free and open to the public.
