Latin American Studies Teacher Workshops
LACSI has longstanding relationships with local K-12 educators and in recent years has enhanced its capacity to serve teachers throughout the state of Georgia by carrying out school-based programs, workshops, and language courses through its Mesa de Conversación.
Most recently, through the Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages (UISFL) award from the US Department of Education, LACSI has been able to expand K-12 outreach through the development of a series of annual summer workshops. These activities were facilitated by core LACS faculty who worked with middle and high school teachers needing to enhance their knowledge of the LAC region and better meet GA Performance Standards related to LAC.
